Well we clap outselves on the back for dignity, go to Free Republic and see just the opposite reactions. Wow. Not one thanks for his refusal to mock the Messiah. If things go this way, Obama will win all 50 states since no one will ever criticize his lackings and empty suited pacifist socialism. We will have a nice Bob Dole election I surmise. Nice of John to be so nice but .....will he really go after this Messiah? If so, how?

If it depends on the ability to get down and dirty, don't worry about McCain. He's the meanest SOB in the valley - always has been.
The difference is that he never gets his own hands dirty doing the nasty stuff, and he has carefully constructed an image of being above all that sort of thing. But rest assured, the long knives will be flashing.
Few remember how he lost SC in 2000. He had closed to within the MOE, largely riding the sympathy of the media myth about the "push poll" about his adopted child, which had nothing to do with the Bush campaign and had reached few households, being the brainchild of a single fundamentalist preacher who had seen the spurious email circulating on the subject and believed it.
In the final debate just before the vote, Bush condemned the man for about the tenth public time, but asked McCain to also stop the negative campaigning his own campaign was running. McCain denied this emphatically, whereupon Bush pulled a flyer out of his coat pocket, paid for by McCain and distributed at 15 Wal-Marts across the state that weekend, which were pure attacks on Bush. McCain was caught lying to SC, and got his ass kicked in the primary.
He may have 'won' the state this year, but he drew a smaller % of the vote than he did in losing in 2000. We know how hard he will fight, though.
