Yup, this is one Huckabee absolutely had to have to keep a realistic hope alive. Up to now, I haven't quite let it sink in that John McCain is the Republican nominee. I have never felt this much concern about the future of our country as I do right now.

Well, Alan: What did I tell you yesterday, and the day before? You can't hope to walk into the White House solely on the strength of evangelical voters. Need to expand the appeal somewhat.

Judging from what I've seen tonight,Obama will be our next president. And with his thrilling oratory, he'll make all of us feel real good about ourselves and our country -- for about 6 months. By then the world's despots will have sized up Obambi as a inexperienced lightweight. Soon after Al-Qaeda bombs will start going off in our subways and standing around holding hands and singing Kum bi ya will lose its appeal.

Sam, you commentary without knowledge of facts is becoming tiresome. Huckabee actually played McCain pretty much to a draw among independents in Virginia... he just did not get much of a turnout, ironically, from the conservative right. The ones that did get out there supported Huckabee, but the turnout was remarkably low. So you had it backwards this time... but even if you had it right, it was particularly useful or constructive. Now go vote for McCain and stop bothering people.
