I've been wondering what the delegate counts would be on the Democratic side if they used the winner-take-all rule that the Republicans use in most of their states. So I worked up a spreadsheet and calculated the delegate count for the Democrats assigning all of the delegates to the winner in the states where the Republicans have the winner-take-all rule. I fudged this a little bit because some states like California are technically not winner-take-all on the Republican side but close. For example, Romney collected 6 delegates in California even though he won 34% of the vote. Those states I treated as effectively winner-take-all. The results:
Clinton: 1026
Obama: 698
That's quite a disparity from the current count:
Obama: 861
Clinton: 855
What a difference the rules make!
Maybe Terry MacAuliffe should have focused on changing the Democratic rules so they were winner-take-all rather than packing everything into Super Tuesday as he did. Had he done so, Hillary would be cruising right now.

And if the Republicans had divided up their delegates things would be different.

That's true. I'll have to fire up Excel and see what the results would have been there.

ABSOLUTELY NO REASON FOR DEMOCRATS TO BE GUIDED BY STUPID REPUBLICAN RULES!!
