CNN has just projected Barack Obama as the "strong winner" in South Carolina. I assume that means he will have won by more than 10%. According to the CNN exit polls, African-Americans gave Obama 81% and he picked up 24% among White voters. Most people will forget that only a few months Hillary Clinton had a large advantage among African-Americans in South Carolina.
CNN also reports that second place is undecided between Edwards and Clinton.
With his big win in South Carolina tonight, Barack Obama finally got the widely expected bounce out of his Iowa victory that catapulted him to the front of the Democratic field.
Update: It's shaping up to be a blowout win for Barack Obama. With 67% of the precincts reporting CNN has these numbers:
Obama: 54%
Clinton: 27%
Edwards: 19%
Just two months ago, the polls in South Carolina showed Hillary Clinton cruising to an easy victory:
Clinton: 41%
Obama: 27%
Edwards: 13%
The momentum shifts once again.

OUCH!! A 29 point trouncing! The secret service had better be on tip-toes around the Hill Dog 2-nite! Congratulations, Barack.
If it does nothing else, this election result will improve my talk radio listening experience (until HillaryInc can meme their way back up). Obama's Really Big Win throws the RW talk jocks WAAAAY off-message. Way off.
Their pretense of "stopping Hillary" was always as phony as the wax bananas in Rupert's fruit bowl anyway, and it will be fun to watch them adjust now. But(Grasshopper,) the balancing of partisan wrath and politically correct speech will be fraught with pitfalls, suspensions, public apologies, training your own replacement under guise of co-hosting, etc.

Age, issues et al will matter if by a miracle Obama, another socialist pacifist who is charismatic and young, wins the nomination. He could also play strongly in some Red States. The Pub guy must win a blue state or two to win in the Fall. The Congress will go Dem now without a doubt. 22 seats is a huge mountain to climb to win back the House. That is retirements alone to overcome. Now CNN tells us that 79% of American is ready for a black President. But, what if the Prez candidate who is black is still just another liberal socialist pacifist? Will he be judged that way or will EMOTIONS OVERCOME COMMON SENSE AND ISSUES?

Obama is as charismatic as a hot plate, so that's not "it". I think Obama'a support is a manifestation of Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton fatigue.

There are worse maladies than liberal socialist pacifism to be concerned about today in America:
