Edwards' hypocrisy, continued

While claiming to be a fighter for the poor, John Edwards has used campaign funds for $1200 haircuts, accepted a large salary from a hedge fund dealing in subprime mortgages, and built a personal home big enough for an airplane hangar. Now yet another accusation has come back to slap him in the face, as Craig Crawford of CQ Politics.com notes:

The latest thread for this narrative is the next-day story that followed the Democrat's attack this week on party rival Hillary Rodham Clinton for taking $20,000 in campaign funds from conservative media titan Rupert Murdoch and his executives. Now it turns out that Edwards himself got $800,000 for a book deal from Murdoch's publishing arm, HarperCollins.

Read the rest at the link above. Hypocrisy isn't necessarily a handicap in Democratic politics, of course, but Edwards is testing the limits again.

It's just not enough to be the prettiest girl in the pageant to win anymore. You have to have some talent and poise, too.

Will the MSM ever, ever show the warts, the inaneness, the absurdity of any , any Dem campaigner? Edwards can say almost anything, get those ridiculous haircuts, pledge socialism in healthcare, divide the nation by doing the populist bit on rich and poor, make silly statements on foreign policy, and we still get the Mrs. Edwards' sympathetic chatter by the media elites and his campaign goes on. Poor ole Ted Stevens mumbles something about fish markets and his small time perfidy gets to be up there with Al Capone. Hypocrisy works for Dem liberals but apparently it is a real sin and unacceptable when a Pub partakes. 'Not that there is anything wrong with that!'

Thank goodness it is pointed out that the Dems are hypocrites...oh sure Some people(communists that love bin Laden)might point a finger at Mitt..or Rudi...or Mac...or Thompson
but it is a feeble finger based on the desire to destroy Bush's America...

Interesting and well-written article deploring the Edwards haircut story AND the Romney make-up bill story and the source of both: Politico.com.

Includes an aside (Update II) relevant to Jim's parrotting of The Meme:

"John Edwards isn't advocating for the elimination of private property or for prohibitions on personal wealth, so his personal wealth isn't remotely "hypocritical."
