Gilmore withdraws

Former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore has formally withdrawn from the GOP nomination contest, Warren Fiske is reporting for The Virginian-Pilot. Read his story at the preceding link.

Gilmore hadn't attracted any significant support, being mired at the bottom of the polls with either a "0%" or an "*" or "-" indicating no support at all, tying him with Ron Paul for last place.

I salute the Governor for making the correct decision. Now it is time for the other also-rans - Paul, Tancredo, T. Thompson, Hunter, Huckabee, and Brownback - to do the right thing as well and get out of the race.

Thanks to The Florida Masochist for the tip.

Goodbye, Jim. I barely even got to know you. Didn't he coin the term "Rudy McRomney?" If so, his campaign was worth it!
