How to get a $1250 haircut

Now, if you're Mr. Common Sense, you probably have wondered just how the heck John Edwards could possibly run up a $1250 for a haircut. I mean - honestly! - the Beverly Hills hair magician who held up LAX traffic to give Bill Clinton a trim only charged $200. Granted, that was some years ago, and prices do tend to rise . . .

To find out just how to owe such a bill, Mary Katharine Ham went to Toka, the salon in DC where the heavy hitters like Hillary and Laura Bush get their hair did. Even there, running up the bill wasn't easy.

Watch the video at the link above for the details. Unfortunately they cut out some of the services rendered, like the manicure, pedicure, and full body wax.

Darn.
