Extreme leftist group MoveOn.org is targeting Sen. John McCain for his answer to a veterans' forum question on Iran. The Senator mimicked the Beach Boys song Barbara Ann by singing "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb bomb Iran" at the event. From the Associated Press, via CNN:
The liberal group MoveOn.org is launching an ad against Republican John McCain and his joke about bombing Iran, arguing that the nation "can't afford another reckless president."
The group plans to spend about $100,000 to air a commercial on network and some cable television stations in Iowa and New Hampshire, states that hold early contests in the presidential nomination process, spokesman Alex Howe said Friday.McCain, campaigning Wednesday in South Carolina, answered a question about military action against Iran with the chorus of the surf-rocker classic "Barbara Ann."
"That old, eh, that old Beach Boys song, Bomb Iran," he said. "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, anyway, ah ..."
His audience laughed, but MoveOn.org called the comment dangerous.

McCain couldn't have asked for a better boost to his struggling campaign. His response to MoveOn: "Lighten up and get a life."
In politics, we often find endorsements from your friends means much less than who your enemies are. For example, Bill Clinton was able to gain some credibility by repudiating the remarks of rapper Sistah Souljah in the 1992 campaign.
What better contrast than the decorated war hero and steadfast POW versus the cowardly leftists who would have us crawl on hands and knees to Teheran to lick Ahmadinejad's boots?
McCain looks better all the time . . .

I didn't know this or bombing them were our only two options.

Want to help the enviroment, all lefties should dig their own grave and put themselves in it, permanent like.

Did you see McCain's rendition of "BombIran" on YouTube? It was a very low-key one-line response to a question from the audience -- from someone who asked if we shouldn't bomb Iran. He was only mocking the questioner, saying something like, "Yeah, right -- Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb bomb Iran..." [uh huh, sure]
Much ado about nothing again.

I seem to recall that MoveOn had a really offensive ad against Bush on their website prior to the 2004 election that they ultimately had to take down. So their indignation over McCain's joke is disingenuous. They have no credibility.
My guess is that the loony left is still smarting over John Kerry being caught telling his bad joke at the expense of our military. The ultimate coward had his political ambitions squashed so the left wants to go after one of the strongest military supporters running for president. It's so obvious what they're doing.

Oh yeah, I can see the humor in it. Dropping bombs on another country is tooooo funny. It must be hilarious to them to think of the people who would die if such a thing were to occur. Considering that Iran is another country they are thinking about going after, even though they have not attacked us ...wait a minute!!!Sounds like Iraq doesn't it..I fail to see the humor of the joke, I wonder what people would think if another country turned around and attacked America without provocation and dropped bombs on our civilian population. I don't think it would be too humorous then would it? 9/11 should cause us to reflect about the loss of human life on our own soil, and that the lives of others on foreign soil are just as precious. It's no different for them to lose loved ones to such a tragedy as we when we lose our own to similar occurences. It is heartbreaking.

Before you all get bent out of shape,my comments were not meant to endorse or approve of terrorism. However the point I want to make is hateful and inflammatory rhetoric coming from our side toward them is no different from it coming from their side toward us. Just as much as we hate to hear the statement "death to America" they don't exactly find it humorous when jokes are made abour bombing their country.
