Good news for America = bad news for Pelosi, Democrats

Well, isn't that the way it seems? They are feverishly working to find an anti-war (non-binding) resolution they can convince their own party to pass, and - darn the luck! - our new aggressive strategy seems to be working in Iraq. They better hurry up and finalize their plan to lose before we really mess up by winning the whole thing! Gary Gross has more at Let Freedom Ring:

C'mon Mr. Murtha. Explain why violence has dropped 80 percent since President Bush's plan was implemented. C'mon Ms. Pelosi. Tell us how President Bush's plan isn't working. C'mon Hillary. Tell us how the situation in Baghdad is a disaster. The truth is that there's too many reports in places like the Washington Post, on Meet the Press and on the NBC Nightly News that things are dramatically improving in Iraq to take these Democrats' pessimism seriously.

It's also time for these Defeatocrats to admit that David Petraeus' counterinsurgency plan is working. There's a reason why he's considered the military's top expert on counterinsurgencies. My only question for the Bush administration is why they didn't have him put together a plan, complete with how many forces he'd need, long before this.

Read it all at the link above. Gary links reports of success from - gasp! - WaPo, Meet The Press, and NBC. Of course, the new strategy won't even be completely "implemented" until May, but the effect of the changes in rules of engagement are clearly positive - not at all what a Democrat with moonbats on his back wants to see.

How sad that Americans elected to our national legislature find it necessary to devise plans for defeat and retreat even as our troops on the ground are making progress. In any conflict, there are many paths to victory and many to defeat, but no path to victory envisions defeat. You don't always win when you want to, but you never win if you DON'T want to.

Very well written post. I h... (Below threshold)

Very well written post. I heartily agree. It certainly is harder for the "Pelosi DEmoFEATISTs" to come out against the war in Iraq when things are going rather well there. 700 militants rounded up to date, weapons caches, President Al-Malaki, coming out into the streets to talk with his people (all his people of Iraq - all 3 groups)and all of it done with not even the full 21,000 troops there yet (those numbers DEmoFEATISTs said would not be enough to do any good)

War is hell, but unfortunately when dealing with hard core evil that does not want to talk; war in defense of THE GOOD is the only way.

It's good there, but it's not over yet...the enemy is stubborn - but God Bless our Troops and our President. God Bless our conservatives (Republican and whatever Conservative Democrats might be in there) They understand that evil rules over others unless the GOOD stand up and fight them back. We have the right to defend our GOOD lives and defend the lives of ALL WHO ARE GOOD. (it's a great way to make allies)

Looking out for "number 1" (me first, do your own thing, save yourself at the expense of, they are philosophies of the 'beat' generation of days of old)

"all it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing."

Know right vs wrong - objectively. Down with moral relativity (aka whatever is good for me)
Others before self - it's a principal that has to return. It will when hearts turn again to the source of real love GOD!

To answer this quoted quest... (Below threshold)

To answer this quoted question: "My only question for the Bush administration is why they didn't have him put together a plan, complete with how many forces he'd need, long before this."

I assume there are at least 2 good reasons...1) he's also a bang-up trainer and he's been busy being responsible for training Iraqi troops so they could implement a plan once developed (hey, I've got a great plan! Sorry, no one to carry it out.)...and 2) the political situation there wouldn't have supported the plan they're implementing now a year or more ago. The oil sharing progress has been important and it's frankly taken a while to pry Maliki out of Sadr's rear. Maliki said up front that he didn't want to be the guy in charge so he hasn't known how to play the part...it's taken a while for us to build him up enough to act like a leader. That's at least 2 good reasons, not that I or any one else has to like how long it's taken to get to this point.

Hey are all our troops out of Germany or Japan, yet? Maybe the democrats could work on that or an official dessert for the country, some new dollar bill designs, hate crime laws targeted at people named Ann Coulter...keep them out of trouble for a while as the grown ups try to stop terrorists from killing children playing soccer and women shopping at markets.
