As I read the McCain summary at CFG, I saw the White Paper on Huckabee - and read that also. Glad I did. He's not the economic conservative he and his supporters make him out to be. I've always seen him as a "nanny-stater". I hope that more and more people see him that way.
Possibly an option for Huckabee would be running for Senator. I've heard he might have a good chance of beating Pryor. Sure, he might not be as conservative as we would like, but surely better than Pryor and his lifetime ACU rating of 23.
Senator from Arkansas - yes
President from Arkansas - no

That CFG paper is going to leave a mark.
McCain didn't show up again. This time he will be in Iraq on the day candidates appear at CFG, but he previously skipped appearances at CPAC, the Heritage Foundation, and National Review's "summit."
How on earth does McCain expect to win the Republican nomination by ditching every conservative organization? I strongly suspect he has given up, and is working on some third-party run with Lieberman already.
