Apparently the two dozen or so potential candidates for the 2008 Presidential nomination of the two major parties aren't enough: "Reverend" Al Sharpton is considering running again, according to the Associated Press:
Civil rights activist Al Sharpton said Monday he is seriously considering a run for president. "I don't hear any reason not to," Sharpton, 52, said in an interview during an urban affairs conference sponsored by another civil rights leader, the Rev. Jesse Jackson.
"If we're talking about the urban agenda, can you tell me anybody else in the field who's representing that right now?" Sharpton asked. "We clearly have a reason to run, and whether we do it or not we'll see over the next couple of months."
Read the rest at the link above. Sharpton sees the need for a candidate with absolutely no qualifications or experience at all - or maybe he just smells the gravy train. Readers may recall that his 2004 campaign left a long trail of unpaid bills at four-star hotels and luxury limo services. Investors might watch which publicly-traded hotel chains are dumb enough not to insist on cash in advance for future Sharpton entourage stays, and avoid those stocks.
Sharpton did mention that, of the current crop of candidates, he does like the message of former Senator John Edwards, who has tried to pre-empt the position of Primary Poverty Pimp for the 2008 campaign. This may be a veiled message to Edwards: find a paid position for Sharpton on your staff, and keep his Sharptongue out of the debates so your own tired old message doesn't seem so boring in comparison.

Of course Charles, one cannot criticize old Al without being accused of racism. Give me a break.
The only good thing about his supposed run would be the comedic value he brings to the debates. One can only hope that he would instead run as an independent candidate and actually help siphon off some votes that would normally go democratic!

Forgive Charles, J.R. Apparently his brain is as small and soft as his genitalia.

Sharpton has a lot of negatives. Remember Tawana Brawley? Sharpton was found guilty of libel in connection with this case, and as far as I know has never paid the complainant the money he was awarded.
There's also the case of Freddy's, where he instigated a mob to violence which resulted in several deaths.
You could look it up.
