After the widespread leaking of faulty exit poll results on Election Day 2004, the networks are vowing no repeat this year, according to Jennifer Harper of the Washington Times.
Read her full report at the link above. Personally, I don't buy it for a minute. I've heard the NEP is keeping all the network reps cloistered until 5:00 p.m. EST this year. No one leaves the room, no cell phones or internet connections in the place, so even the network talking heads themselves won't get the word until after 5. Of course, the polls will still be open across the country, and it will only be 2 p.m. on the west coast at that time.
Still, I'll be surprised if there are no leaks before that. Watch Drudge closely. One of the great things about the "information superhighway" is that it is almost impossible to suppress a story. All that is needed is one guy who sneaks a cell phone in, goes to the bathroom, and sends out text messages with the results. Accurate or not, they will spread like wildfire.

I do not buy it for one second either. There are going to be more Dem cell phones buzzing and ringing with more toilet flushes in the background than during a Super Bowl commerical. The DNC Media will leak, spin, distort and outright lie if need be to supress the GOP vote until every poll is closed. (Of course, this assumes they will not need to keep some polls open after 7PM via some hack judge's quick order, so they can bus in their multi-voting union thugs, ala MO 2000 and try to steal an election).
I have called this a media-controlled, GOP voter disenfranchisement campaign using Tokyo Rose type tactics. Of course, there is little difference between the DNC Media and Ms. Rose.
Telling the media not to leak is like putting a 5lb steak in front of Rosie O'Donnell and telling her to sit.

Look for whichever side is doing well in the exit polls to find a way to get the word out early.
