You know, the NYT was once one of the most respected newspapers in the world? Their editorial policy under Abe Rosenthal was liberal, but the news columns were spot-on. If they said it, you could take it to the bank.
Then Abe retired and the Sulzberger family installed their ne'er-do-well scion, Arthur, Jr., in the top job, mainly because he couldn't find honest work on his own. Being a pathetic little weasel who would be working at fast food - mopping the bathrooms, not behind the food counter, thank God - if he hadn't been born into a wealthy family.
Too bad, really. Of course, their circulation and ad revenue are going downhill fast. "Pinch" probably blames Bush . . .
