In a rare moment of clarity, Democratic Senate nominee Claire McCaskill revealed her true thoughts about Bill Clinton on Meet the Press Sunday, as Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit notes:
Yesterday, October 8, 2006, on Meet the Press Claire McCaskill gets honest about Bill Clinton:
Tim Russert: "You had Bill Clinton come in and raise money for you, do you think Bill Clinton is a great President?Claire McCaskill: "I do. I have a lot of problems with some of his personal issues. I said at the time, I think he's been a great leader but I don't want my daughter near him."
The Real Clinton legacy.Poor Bill, he even went and campaigned for Claire and that's the thanks he gets?
Read the rest and watch the video at the link above.
Greatness, deconstructed and redefined by the marvelously mediocre McCaskill. Nice slap at the guy who came in to save her campaign, too - however true it might be, a terribly ingracious statement to make on national televison.
Someone once observed, "We may not always get the elected officials we need, but we usually get those we deserve." Choose carefull, Missouri.

Clinton campaigned for her? Well, that's the kiss of death. Everyone Clinton's stumped for the last 6 years has lost.

Yes, that will always be the REAL legacy, and many Democrats (like internet posters) will continue to defend their man - and blame the GOP for being "obsessed" with Clinton and sex.
Yet, here we have Russert and McCaskill - two Democrats - speaking of the same thing.
Remember those nonpartisan campaign net jokes on JibJab in 2004? Remember how Clinton always was portrayed?
How about the new Robin Williams movie and the line they are showing in the commercials? Of course, I'm sure Williams and the rest of Hollywood are also members of the right-wing conspiracy.
Real legacy indeed.
