2006 Oregon Governor Race

The Republican Party is facing a difficult election, but in no field is it more difficult than Gubernatorial races. The GOP seems poised to lose Massachusetts, New York, and Ohio. In addition, Arkansas and Colorado seem ready to slip into the Democatic column. Bob Ehrlich, the Republican incumbent in Maryland, is trailing.

If the GOP is to hold its majority, it is going to have to pick up Democratic seats. Right now, we have the potential to pick up four midwestern states - Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois. From the west though comes a poll that shows we may pick up Oregon, a state where a Republican has not been Governor in over two decades.
