Democratic Senate nominee and KosKid fave rave Jon Tester is going on the road to promote his "Real Energy, Real Change" plan. Calling energy a "national security issue," his big plan consists of repeating Greenie wish lists from the last decade. The Helena Independent Record reports:
"We're heading the wrong direction," he said. "It's time we make America energy independent."
His plan emphasizes energy efficiency, investing in bio-fuel technology, developing Montana's natural resources cleanly and efficiently, being independent of foreign energy through renewable energy and extending tax incentives for wind energy production.Tester was at the Judith Gap wind farm Friday and called it "absolutely incredible." As a farmer near Big Sandy, Tester said he has always considered wind a liability, but converting it to energy makes wind an asset.

Granted, Tester generated a lot of wind on his own, but not only is there no viable way for wind power to make a significant dent in our growing energy needs, but research into wind power, bio-mass fuels, and virtually everything he advocates was already covered in the energy bill passed last year, according to Jason Klindt of the Burns campaign.
The incumbent Sen. Burns and challenger Tester were tied in the most recent polls, a big surge for Burns, but most analysts rate the contest either "tossup" or "lean Democratic" due to Burns' low approval rating of 39%.
