Democratic Senator and losing 2004 Presidential candidate John Kerry is pulling out his full list to raise money to help Ned Lamont, the Democratic Senate nominee in Connecticut who has a personal net worth of near a quarter of a BILLION dollars. Hey, mega-rich guys stick together.
Andrew Miga of the Associated Press reports:
Sen. John Kerry is revving up his online political machine to raise campaign cash for Democratic Senate nominee Ned Lamont.
Kerry tapped his 3 million-person e-mail list on Wednesday to deliver a fundraising appeal for Lamont, the anti-Iraq war political newcomer who beat three-term Sen. Joe Lieberman last week in Connecticut's hard-fought Democratic primary contest."Ned Lamont has caused a national stir by successfully challenging the Bush position on Iraq that ignores the utter failure of the President's policy," Kerry's message said.
The Kerry e-mail also touted two Democratic Senate incumbents facing tough fights this fall, Robert Menendez of New Jersey and Daniel Akaka of Hawaii. Both oppose the war.
"Ned, Dan and Bob have been attacked mercilessly for acting with such conviction and are locked in close must-win races," said Kerry, D-Mass. "It's time to reward their courage."

Kerry might even take Lamont windsurfing, but with his well-known aversion to having minorities around him, he'll no doubt expect Akaka to tend the gardens and Menendez to serve the drinks.
Naturally, he's attempting to suck up to the antiwar left in anticipation of another try for the Presidency. Of course, they are just stupid enough to fall for it.

Check out the "Newest" Quinnipiac Poll. LaMont looks like he has an UPHILL climb!
Connecticut Sen. Joseph Lieberman, running as an independent, gets 53 percent of likely voters, with 41 percent for Democratic primary winner Ned Lamont and 4 percent for Republican Alan Schlesinger, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Let's hope that the democrats pour lot's of time and effort into the Lamont campaigning to beat, well, a Democrat.
This couldn't be more perfect. A republican has zero chance to win there and the Democrats cut their own throats. This will be great if the netroots go all out on CT for Lamont and ignore other places where they might make a bigger difference.

I don't know anything about Schlesinger, and don't want to hurt the guy's feelings, but WHAT THE HECK IS HE THINKING? He's gone from 9% to 6% to 4% support now. Are the voters trying to tell him something?
Who in their right mind would donate money to a major-party candidate with numbers like that? Better to just give it to the US Treasury where it would be put to more efficient use.
