In almost every state and district across this country there will be a communist running against a Republican. Sure they call themselves "democrats" but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, I call it a duck even if it wants to call itself a swan.

I don't think we have elected leaders who are anti-American. They might argue for different policies than you, and you might disagree, but Bernie Sanders does not want America to fail any more than you or I.
Anyway, I am sure there are plenty of neo-Nazis, white supremacists and fascists who want to see Democrats lose, but I don't exactly think any of them have power in the GOP. Same goes for the communists.
By the way, communism has been successful when enacted by an actual commune, as opposed to an autocratic totalitarian leader. Just like socialism is different under Hitler than it is under Tony Blair. Try not to make blanket statements about ideologies based on historical anomalies, but rather attack the basis of the ideology. It makes for a more reasoned debate.

I'm sorry kimyl, I shouldn't have said that the modern American democrats are communists. They are better referred to as communist-lite, a kinder ,gentler form of fascist.
You know I bet Stalin thought he was doing the kind and compassionate thing just like most democrats do today. But what you think and what is reality are a bit different.
The aftermath of Hurrican Katrina in New Orleans is a perfect example of what happens when the policies of the left are followed. Basically if you rely on anyone other than yourself, you are screwed. But lefties like kimyl think everyone should rely only on the government to solve all of the problems in society.
Most people in this country don't even realize the the federal response to the New Orleans flood last year was both the largest and fasted ever in the history of this country. Even so most on the left (and those who rely on the left wing for their news) felt the federal response was a failure. Still even when the government did the best it could and the best it ever has done, the victims of the left wing felt the ill effects of 40+ of left wing government policies.
You are right about one thing kimyl, communism works on the increadibly tiny scale like a kibbutz. When you try to do it on a national level it fails and has never in the history of the human race not failed. Never.
I once heard a definition of insane as "doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result". This statement pretty well sums up the modern American democrat party.

Fascists are government control ideologues on the right, communists are government control ideologues on the left.
This is the thing, OF COURSE you have to rely on yourself in a crisis. But if you are part of a government that you pay for, support, and elect, you can expect some competence. The mistake they made was not trusting the government, but trusting the "friend" that Bush put in charge of FEMA and trusting Bush to do the right thing.
This is typical GOP rhetoric: if the government failed (like Katrina) it is indicative of the fact that government cannot be trusted, however, if the government failed and Bush was in charge, then it must be the Democrats fault or Clinton's fault, or the 9/11 economy, or anything but poor decision making on his part. Why did Bush get the war intelligence wrong? Not because his cabinet PUSHED for and WANTED pro-war intelligence, but because Clinton had some wall in place to confuse the FBI and CIA or something like that.
If you wanna talk about insanity, take a look at Iraq and Viet Nam, the Gulf of Tonkin and Colin Powell at the UN, the Viet Cong and the insurgency in Iraq, and the costs (money, military and lives) of both situations. The GOP thought we could make a point, or promote democracy, or take control of a region with one war, and so far, so bad.
I know that the right wants to paint the left as "cut and run" or weak on defense. But what should the left say if Bush came out and say "The new health care policy is that we should all drink strichnine."? Say nothing and let people die, or question the President and save some lives?

The aftermath of 11 September in NYC is a perfect example of what happens when the policies of the left are followed. The city and state did a great job in that disaster. NYC--BLUE. Just because you have a vile view of human nature doesn't make the rest of vile--that's in your head.

While you are reading this, the Iranian reactor produces enriched bomb-grade uranium. Terrorists can deliver that bomb to your city, and it can kill you and your children. Yet the government does nothing.
Do we demand violence? Not in any common sense. Similarly, police use force to arrest criminals in order to stop violence.
But Iran is not a criminal? Wrong. Iran has proven malicious intent. Iran, under the current regime, conducted many terrorist bombings in the West, and sponsors deadly terrorists. Iranian leaders repeatedly called for fight against the United States and annihilation of Israel.
Perhaps Iran needs nuclear weapons for self-defense? No. Iran already bullies the Middle East with its huge conventional army. No country threatens Iran.
Since the eighth-century jihad and the Ottoman army at the gates of Vienna, the West has never been exposed to such threat. Irans several nuclear bombs can inflict more damage on America than the World War II. Never before the Islamic fundamentalists who hate the West and dream of attacking it had military might of apocalyptic dimensions. Are you crazy to doubt they will use the bomb?
We call on the United States: Do not hesitate. Protect your people. Protect your allies. Destroy the Iranian reactor!
