It is absolutely critical to Mexico's future - and to our chances of effective control of illegal immigration of Mexicans - that Calderon win, and be successful in implementing the reforms that Fox has failed completely to pass.

An AMLO victory will lead to a near-complete meltdown of the financial and business infrastructure, creating millions more likely to flee north.

Adjoran - I disagree with your comment. What is critical is not who wins, but that, regardless of who wins, Mexicans respect the democratic process. If a disputed Calderon win results in a breakdown of Mexican democracy, that would be much, much worse for Mexico's fiscal and social well-being than if Lopez Obrador wins without such a breakdown. You can pray for a Calderon win, but I'd recommend praying harder for respect for the Democratic process.
