Alexander, you're so right. I live in Alabama and frankly, I didn't think Siegelman or Scrushy would be convicted. Scrushy got off last for bilking Health South in Birmingham last year.
So, one of the reasons the Feds went after Scrushy and Siegelman down in Montgomery was to get get a conviction. I'm glad it worked.

AKM,
Did you forget MSM Rule 5c: the party of a convicted person is only relevant to a story when he/she is a Republican.

Not every headline can toe the party line. There are examples of this on both sides, and there are websites devoted to bias on both sides. Especially with Abramoff, they kept saying it was bipartisan when it was not, and that fueled the "its both parties" perception.

Exactly. The story about the "pumping" judge never showed the party. The left were assuming it was a republican, which is why the papers do that. Get it out, leave the impression...

I always feel so much pity for the GOP when the press doesn't play fair. Why, with their tiny windbag talk radio industry, and their limited pundit pool, none of their ideas get a fair shake, they just got knocked down by the godless liberal press. if only they could have some voices on the air to support their policies....
Really, what would it take for you to support the press in any meaningful way? A Fox News logo? That's all? OK...
