2006 Wisconsin Governor Race

A new Strategic Vision poll reports that Republican Congressman Mark Green has moved ahead of incumbent Democratic Governor Jim Doyle. Wisconsin and Michigan are excellent opportunities this year for Republicans to pick up Democratic seats.

SV is known as a GOP leaning operation. And the numbers are 46-45. So this is a soft lead. More encouraging is that Doyle has a 51% disapproval rating, and 60% of respondents say the state is on the wrong track.

Also of note, Thompson leads Kohl in a hypo Senate race 45-42. All the other Republicans lag badly, with Kohl claiming between 50% and 63%.
